Five Reasons Our Goat Milk Soap is Beneficial for Your Skin

When I began creating goat milk soap, it was because our goats were superstars and produced an abundance of milk! I had no idea what to do with all of the extra milk. I read that goat milk soap was good for skin sensitivities. One of my daughters had extremely sensitive skin so I thought, "Let's try it out and see if it's true!" It was true. It calmed, moisturized and helped to allow healing. She still uses our Honey Oatmeal Goat Milk Soap to this day!

I kept reading, researching, and studying. I started experimenting with soap making, infusing oils, and combining different herbs. It was like magic and I couldn't stop.

I've been making soap now for over a decade with organic oils, raw goat milk, clays, ground botanical powders & herbs, and essential and natural fragrance oils. To this day, it still seems magical to experience the oils going through the saponification process and turn into solid soap!

And my family's sensitive skin is nourished, moisturized and healthy. Your skin can also be restored back to its natural beauty, full and moisturized.

New customers ask me often what is so special about our goat milk soap. What we love about it is that it has so many benefits with every single soap bar.

Here are five reasons why everyone should use Meadowlark Heritage Farm's goat milk soap.

Reason #1 - One of the best ways to moisturize your skin! Seriously.

Goat milk is full of milk fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals. All of that goes right into each soap bar which naturally moisturizes your skin. Goat milk soap is a natural emollient. Emollients are immediately absorbed into your skin and helps create a barrier to lock in moisture. It is gentle and excellent for sensitive skin. The result is a more hydrated epidermis and supple skin.

Seriously, my skin has never felt better. Our farm is located in northern Idaho. It is a dry climate and winters make everyone's skin worse. But since using goat milk soap, the need for using extra moisturizing lotion is greatly reduced!

Reason #2 - Goat Milk Soap is Creamy, Gentle and Effective!

It Cleans.

Goat milk has a higher fat content than cow's milk and it provides your skin with a creamy luxurious lipid boost to your skin. Handcrafted natural goat milk soap keeps the naturally occurring moisturizing glycerin in every bar of soap.

Commercially made soaps are stripped of the glycerin to make other products and people's skin suffers. However, our goat milk soaps keep all the glycerin.

In fact, our small batch soaps take on the qualities of the oils and fats used in making each recipe. So the coconut oil creates a hard bar of soap that has a fantastic cleansing lather. The olive oil gently adds to the moisturizing properties.

""My skin still won't love any other soap. Thank you for always making this!" ~K

Tip #3 - Contains Vitamin A & Alpha Hydroxy Acids!

It repairs.

Personally, this may be the best reason. Let's face it, my skin is, uh, maturing. Yes, that's the word. Maturing. Alpha hydroxy acids have been shown to have the ability to increase skin cell renewal, improve moisture content, and reduce lines and wrinkles. Read here ... anti-aging. I'm thankful for my age; but, if I can not quite look that age yet, then I'm all in. Goat milk soaps help with that.

In fact, lactic acid (found in goat milk) is one of the mildest alpha hydroxy acids and yet one of the most effective than other AHAs at improving skin moisture, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Even if that means it reduces just a few wrinkles, I'm in.

Besides, I am still so impressed with how soft my skin feels overall. Goat milk soap is all that I use to cleanse my face and I also use it in the shower. My favorite facial bar? It's our Goat Milk Soap Charcoal Clear Skin. Cleansing without stripping and, as you just read, renewing my skin cells. Love it.

I'm not the only one either. One customer sent me a note saying, "The charcoal face bar really helped me clear up my acne and make my face happy again! I'm definitely never switching! Please never stop making the charcoal soap!"

Our Charcoal Clear Skin goat milk soap fits the bill; not only for maturing skin, but also for acne prone skin. Goat milk soaps clean without over stripping and leaving the skin feeling dry.

Tip #4 - Goat Milk Soap is Full of Vitamins & Minerals!

It nourishes.

Goat milk not only nourishes our bodies, but also our skin which is our bodies largest organ. We need to take care of our skin. Goat milk is good for you!

Vitamin A: Goat milk contains more Vitamin A than cow milk. Vitamin A supports your healthy skin complexion by keeping the layers of skin well hydrated.

B Vitamins: These vitamins help with all sorts of things like helping to maintain healthy collagen levels, sooth irritations of the skin, and possibly helping to control acne breakouts.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant.

Vitamin D: Most of our vitamin D comes from sunlight; however, studies have shown that vitamin D can help certain skin conditions when topically applied.

Vitamin E: This fat-soluble vitamin can help fight skin inflammation and help protect skin in regards to sun exposure.

Minerals: Some minerals in goat milk, such as selenium and zinc, can aid in achieving skin health and help as antioxidants.

Tip #5 - Good for Your Skin and Good for the Environment!

Seriously.

Not only are goat milk soaps gentle, healing, and cultivating skin health; goat milk soaps help reduce waste. There is less packaging! My goat milk soaps do not come in a plastic bottle which then ends up in a landfill. Less waste. It's a win-win.
